Highwood, IL — Ahead of Election Day, the Democratic Party of Illinois Chair Lisa Hernandez and Governor JB Pritzker hosted a Day of Action yesterday in Lake County in support of Maria Peterson for State Representative (IL-52), Lake County State’s Attorney Eric Rinehart, Hilary Winiarz for Lake County Board District 2, and down-ballot Democrats. Through rallying, canvassing and door-knocking, the Party, candidates, and volunteers mobilized their communities to get out the vote.

“Yesterday, volunteers canvassed, door-knocked and galvanized their neighbors in Lake County with one message in mind: local elections matter,” said DPI Chair Lisa Hernandez. “From county chairs to Congress, to protecting supermajorities in the General Assembly to gaining seats at the local level, we don’t plan on losing any progress we’ve made. Illinois Democrats are doing the work now and through Election Day to mobilize our communities because when we vote, we win.”

“Illinois Democrats are putting in the work to make sure that we turn out the vote for Democrats up and down the ballot, and that’s exactly what Lake County is ready to do on November 5th when we reelect Eric Rinehart, send Maria Peterson to Springfield, and put Hilary Winiarz on the Lake County Board,” said Gov. JB Pritzker. “Across the state, Illinois Democrats are building momentum to deliver on Election Day.”

Over two weekends of action, DPI has door-knocked and canvassed for targeted candidates including U.S. Representatives Nikki Budzinski (IL-13) and Eric Sorensen (IL-17), Murri Briel for State Representative (IL-76), LaToya Greenwood for State Representative (IL-114), Illinois State Senator Patrick Joyce (IL-40), Billy Morgan for State Representative (IL-79), 18th Circuit Judge Chantelle Porter, Maria Sinkule for DuPage District One County Board and Lucy Chang Evans for District Three County Board.
