Chicago, IL — After disrespecting–and exploiting—a grieving Illinois family back in May, foreign prison tour guide and handpicked Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem can’t stay away from Illinois. This morning, she was back in Chicagoland spewing more xenophobia, more MAGA ideology, and a GOP favorite—more racism.

In the spring, the Democratic Party of Illinois’ six questions for Noem and the GOP’s Illinois lackeys went unanswered. Today, we add to our previous asks:

  1. Detaining mothers, fathers, children indiscriminately and holding them in cruel conditions is in line with some of the most shameful moments in our nation’s past—why are you comfortable being on that side of history?

  1. Did you ever directly apologize to Emma Shafer’s family?

  1. A Broadview ICE facility was exposed for deplorable conditions—including for the elderly and pregnant and nursing mothers. As members of the party of family values, Secretary and ILGOP, where’s your comment?

  1. Research from the federal government has found immigrants commit less crime than U.S.-born people. Why do you create a narrative that immigrants are disproportionately committing violent crimes? Could it be bigotry?

  1. Why is (alleged) sexual assault permissible when it’s Donald Trump?
