Chicago, IL — After weeks of dodging questions about Donald Trump’s war in Iran, Darren Bailey had the audacity to LAUGH when asked whether he supports Trump’s handling of Iran. Trump’s war has sent prices through the roof, costing Illinois families an additional $1.84 a gallon at the gas station and nearly $376 per household in rising energy costs since the war began. The war’s price tag is now nearly $50 billion and climbing, and Illinois families are the ones footing the bill as Trump’s war drags on.

In response, the Democratic Party of Illinois released the following statement:
“When will Darren Bailey stop laughing off the issues hitting Illinois families the hardest and start taking Trump’s war in Iran seriously?
“Darren Bailey’s refusal to answer questions about how Donald Trump’s war in Iran is cutting into families’ budgets is a disgrace. To then laugh in someone’s face when asked about the war is just disrespectful. He can’t dodge this question forever. If he claims to be fit to serve as governor of this state, he’s going to have to start answering to voters.”
Darren Bailey and ILGOP leadership must join Governor JB Pritzker and Illinois Democrats in calling on Donald Trump to end his war in Iran.
