:  Darren Bailey, Mike Bost, Illinois Republicans Ditch Illinoisans to Celebrate Trump While Gas Prices Soar Back at Home

They're celebrating Trump's costly agenda

Springfield, IL — Where is Darren Bailey and Mike Bost while Illinoisans face record-high gas prices while filling their tanks at home? In Dallas to worship Donald Trump and the disaster his presidency has been for Illinoisans.

While Bailey, his running mate Aaron Del Mar, and Bost are in Dallas partying with the president, Illinoisans are paying a record-high $4.49 per gallon of gasoline and $5.97 per gallon of diesel. Since Trump’s reckless and costly war with Iran began, Illinois families have spent $455 more for the gas they need to drop their kids off at school, go to work, or run their daily errands.

Bailey, Del Mar, and Bost are joined by Illinois Republican Party Chair Bob Grogan and Illinois several members of the GOP.

In response, Democratic Party of Illinois Chair Lisa Hernandez released the following statement:

“Families in Illinois are struggling to afford gas, and the ILGOP is in Dallas celebrating President Trump’s costly agenda for families. Yet again, Republicans show their loyalty lies only with the highest bidder — never with working families. If Illinois voters can’t trust Republicans not to bail on their own people, how can they trust them to govern on their behalf?”

Republicans have made it clear that they don’t care about providing relief to working families — only making themselves and their billionaire friends richer. Meanwhile, Democrats are winning up and down the ballot with a clear vision to bring down costs and deliver for the working people of Illinois.
