Press Release:  Don’s Destruction: What Happened to ‘Worst of the Worst’

Chicago, IL— In response to new reporting that of 614 people arrested through the Trump administration’s Operation Midway Blitz, only 16 of them had criminal histories, Democratic Party of Illinois Chair Lisa Hernandez said the following:

“This reporting further validates what Illinois Democrats and terrorized communities already knew to be true: Operation Midway Blitz was never about immigration reform or going after the ‘worst of the worst’. It has always been about racism. 

Hernandez continued: “Instead of being concerned about SNAP, health care access or Trump’s economy that’s squeezing working families, Republicans would rather waste time—and taxpayer dollars—racially profiling nearly six hundred people on Chicago streets.”
