Springfield, IL — Today, three Republican candidates—one failed businessman, one MAGA extremist, and one unknown sheriff—will join a forum to peddle lies about Illinois’ progress in Tazewell County this evening. The Democratic Party of Illinois released the following statement:
“Darren Bailey, Ted Dabrowski and James Mendrick will no doubt get on stage tonight and try to lie their way to a primary win. But these are the facts: Illinois has seen 10 credit upgrades, crime is down, and our state will remain a Blue Wall for the Midwest, while those three will remain fear-mongering MAGA-loyalists with unserious campaigns. Voters won’t let them take us backwards.”
As a reminder of these candidates’ incompetence, just last month, Darren Bailey looked directly into a camera (26:30) and said January 6th was a very clear farce, while supporting the pardoning of the violent insurrectionists. Ted Dabrowski’s former employer, the Illinois Policy Institute, ran a $2.5M deficit in 2022, continuing the string of deficits the organization posted while he worked there in 2014, 2016, and 2017.
