ICYMI: Illinois Democrats Celebrate Historic Climate Bill

Bill will lower monthly utility bills for working families while strengthening grid, and is expected to save Illinois consumers $13.4 billion over the next 2 decades

Springfield, IL — In case you missed it, Governor JB Pritzker signed into law the Clean and Reliable Grid Affordability Act (CRGA), SB 25, a groundbreaking bill championed by Illinois Democrats that will help lower utility bills and save Illinoisans billions of dollars across decades.    

“In a time where Donald Trump’s economy is squeezing working families, Illinois Democrats delivered a bill that will help lower the monthly light bill. While Trump works overtime to punish working families by stripping away federal funding, Illinois Democrats worked toward clean energy projects and job opportunities,” said DPI Chair Lisa Hernandez. “Our new climate law is what it looks like when we invest in today’s infrastructure, despite what’s going on in Washington.”
