ILGOP Chair Bob Grogan: “I Support the President” Even After Trump Declared “I Love the Inflation”

Illinois Republicans cheer Trump on as his inflation costs Illinois families $3,400+ more

Springfield, IL— It has now been six days since Donald Trump sat in the Oval Office and proudly declared “I love the inflation,” and instead of rejecting it, Illinois Republicans have chosen to embrace it. ILGOP Chair Bob Grogan says he has “no problem supporting the President and “definitely share[s] a lot of the same convictions,” as Trump continues his assault on working families. New data shows that the average household in Illinois has had to spend $3,400 more on goods and services under Trump. That includes $310 more for groceries, $357 more on gas, $210 more on electricity, and $815 more on housing.

In response, Democratic Party of Illinois Chair Lisa Hernandez said the following:

“Illinois Republicans want voters to believe that they’re on the side of working families, but their actions tell the opposite story. As families across Illinois pay the price for Donald Trump’s reckless tariffs, war of choice, and cuts to health care, Bob Grogan made clear he supports the ‘I love the inflation’ President. His refusal to hold Trump accountable in the slightest is further proof that the Illinois Republican Party has fully descended into MAGA delusion. Make no mistake: Illinois Democrats running in races up and down the ballot are fighting to lower costs and make life more affordable in Trump’s economy.”

Grogan’s remarks come as inflation has surged to its highest rate in years due to Trump’s deadly, unpopular, and unnecessary war of choice in Iran. Republicans’ inflation continues to outpace wage growth, which is at a five-year low. New economic data also showed that producer prices have once again increased, marking the largest 12-month increase in nearly four years.
