Chicago, IL – It has now been over a month since Donald Trump launched his war in Iran, with no exit strategy and no end in sight. And in that time, Illinoisans have already paid the price.
Gas prices are now on average $4.42 a gallon, a 45% increase since Trump started his war in Iran. Since February 28, Illinois families have spent a staggering $289 million more on gasoline than they would have otherwise.
And Illinois Republicans have had nothing to say. Kathy Salvi, Darren Bailey, Don Tracy, and the rest of the ILGOP clown car have stood by silently as Donald Trump’s war has sent gas prices skyrocketing and left Illinois families to foot the bill.
Instead of delivering on his promise to lower costs on “Day One” for Illinois families, Donald Trump plunged the country into another reckless and costly war of choice without an end in sight and Illinois Republicans have defended him every step of the way.
The ILGOP is choosing Donald Trump over Illinois families. While Illinois Republicans stand by as Trump drives up costs, Governor JB Pritzker and Illinois Democrats are delivering real relief, lowering costs, protecting access to health care, and standing up against Trump’s agenda.
If gas continues to rise, will Republicans demand Trump change course in Iran? Illinois voters deserve to know where the ILGOP will draw the line.
