:  Illinois Democrats Head Into the Home Stretch of the Campaign With Historic Momentum and Massive Voter Enthusiasm

While the ILGOP remains disorganized, DPI’s Organize Illinois makes waves

Springfield, IL — With less than 50 days until the midterm elections, Democrats are entering the final phase of the campaign cycle with back-to-back wins under their belt and historic momentum on their side. Illinois voters are fed up with MAGA’s corruption, lies, and illegal war in Iran. Instead, voters are putting their faith in strong Democratic candidates like Governor JB Pritzker, Christian Mitchell for lieutenant governor, Juliana Stratton for U.S. Senate, and Democrats up and down the ballot who will fight to lower costs, protect health care, and deliver a more affordable future for working families.

BY THE NUMBERS: Because of early organizing and voter engagement efforts through DPI’s coordinated campaign, Organize Illinois 2026, the Party has knocked on more than 221,000 doors and made 283,000 direct voter contact calls in support of Democratic candidates in every corner of the state. Meanwhile, the ILGOP aren’t confident in their own ticket to throw their full support behind their statewide candidates.

“Democratic candidates up and down the ballot are ready to answer Illinoisans’ call by lowering costs, protecting health care, and making life more affordable,” said DPI Chair Lisa Hernandez. “Since our launch in June, Organize Illinois has surpassed more than 221,000 doors knocked and made 283,000 direct voter contact calls. From now until Election Day, Illinois Democrats are all gas and no brakes to organize, register, and turn out the voters who will power Democratic wins up and down the ballot.”

There are no days off when it comes to winning elections, and Democrats are making every second count — from registering new voters, knocking on doors, canvassing neighborhoods, making phone calls, and hosting hundreds of events. In every corner of Illinois, Democrats are putting in the work to meet voters where they are and organizing everywhere to ensure Illinois families have strong Democratic champions in their corner who will always put their needs first.

Democrats are winning and overperforming by historic margins up and down the ballot across the country. Since Trump was sworn in, Democrats have won or overperformed in nearly 90% of key elections, with an average overperformance of nearly 13 points in special elections.
