Springfield, IL — After Illinois Republicans Mike Bost (IL-12), Mary Miller (IL-15), Darin LaHood (IL-16), helped pass a $70 billion bill to fund ICE with little guardrails, Democratic Party of Illinois Chair Lisa Hernandez released the following statement:
“Illinois Democrats saw firsthand how Donald Trump’s immigration agenda tore apart families, shot people, and killed others. For much of it, our state was ground zero. Instead of having a backbone, the ILGOP, including Mary Miller, Darin LaHood and Mike Bost are showing that they stand behind inhumane policies—and will make taxpayers foot the bill. Meanwhile, Illinois Democrats hear everyday how Trump’s economy is squeezing working people. Lowering costs should be the GOP’s priority.”
