Last night in a bipartisan vote, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a supplemental funding bill (H.R. 7790) to provide the U.S. Food and Drug Administration with urgently needed resources to help address the infant formula shortage. This legislation comes on the heels of the Biden Administration’s announcement of steps to boost production and supply of formula.

While every single Illinois Democrat voted in favor of the billIllinois Republican Reps. Mike Bost, Rodney Davis, Darin LaHood, and Mary Miller voted no on addressing the formula shortage and providing immediate help to Illinois’ infants and their caretakers.

As Illinois Republicans vote no while trying to score cheap political points off of this urgent situation, Democrats are providing real solutions to support Illinois families.

These Illinois Republicans must provide answers for their hypocrisy in opposing the baby formula funding, and every single Illinois Republican running for Congress should be asked if they would support the legislation. Illinois families deserve nothing less.
