Springfield, IL — In response to House Republicans fleeing the Capitol and beginning the August recess early to avoid the release of the Epstein files, the Democratic Party of Illinois released the following statement:
“The ILGOP loves to posture about accountability and transparency, but rather than stand up for what’s right, Bost, LaHood, and Miller are fleeing the Capitol to avoid releasing the Epstein files. Illinoisans elected Republicans to deliver results, not to protect predators and take extended vacations on the taxpayer’s dime. This vote was a chance to show up and they bailed—after they already stripped health care and food assistance from their constituents. No backbone, no leadership, just more cover for Trump.”
