Springfield, IL – This week, the Democratic committeepeople of Illinois’s 16th Congressional District selected Kim Armstrong as the new Democratic State Central Committeewoman for the district. With MAGA crony Darin LaHood representing the district, Kim Armstrong’s role in our Party is uniquely critical to defending democratic values, building the Democratic Party locally and organizing against ILGOP dysfunction. Democratic Party of Illinois Chair Lisa Hernandez shared the following to congratulate the newest DSCC Committeewoman:
“Our strength as a party comes from having a wealth of passionate voices at the table, and I’m excited to welcome Kim Armstrong as our newest committeewoman representing Illinois’ 16th congressional district,” said DPI Chair Lisa Hernandez. “Kim has spent the last seven years as the Vice President of Marketing and Institutional Advancement at Illinois Central College, demonstrating that she knows the invaluable impact of the right messaging and the importance of uplifting our state’s students. That kind of experience in the Democratic State Central Committee is exactly what we need to continue building a stronger party that truly reflects every community. I’m looking forward to working alongside her to deliver wins for Illinoisans in the 16th and across our state.”
“As the newly-selected 16th Congressional District DSCC Committeewoman, I’m ready to get to work downstate,” said Kim Armstrong. “With years of experience in marketing, fundraising and relationship-building, I look forward to organizing alongside Chair Hernandez, DPI and local Democrats to fight for our values in the 16th.”
Kim Armstrong was selected through a weighted vote of the Democratic committee people of Illinois’s 16th Congressional District. She is a Peoria-based senior level executive with over 20 years of experience in marketing, fundraising and relationship building within corporate, volunteer, and non-profit organizations.
