Chicago, IL—With Election Day just two weeks away, the Democratic Party of Illinois is proud to be the Party that doesn’t stop working. Back in July, the Party announced its Coordinated Campaign, Organize Illinois and since then, has continued its commitment to a statewide presence. Over two consecutive weekends, DPI has hosted over a dozen targeted events across Illinois to support down-ballot Democrats.

“Since October 12th, Illinois Democrats have contacted over 215,000 voters on doors and phones and rallied hundreds of Democratic volunteers to execute GOTV efforts across the state. Through canvassing and door-knocking, DPI, Democratic leaders, candidates, and volunteers mobilized our neighbors in Champaign, DeKalb, DuPage, Kane, Kankakee, Lake, McLean, St. Clair and Stephenson counties to get out the vote,” said DPI Chair Lisa Hernandez.

She continued: “We can’t sit by while MAGA extremists strive to gain power and threaten the progress our state has made. So from county chairs to Congress, to protecting supermajorities in the General Assembly, to gaining seats at the local level, the Democratic Party of Illinois plans on winning in just 15 days.”

During the Weekends of Action, DPI took action for candidates including U.S. Representatives Brad Schneider (IL-10), Bill Foster (IL-11), Nikki Budzinski (IL-13) and Eric Sorensen (IL-17), State Representative Suzanne Ness (IL-66), Maria Peterson for State Representative (IL-52), Mary Mahady for State Representative (IL-63), Murri Briel for State Representative (IL-76), LaToya Greenwood for State Representative (IL-114), Illinois State Senator Patrick Joyce (IL-40), Billy Morgan for State Representative (IL-79), Lake County State’s Attorney Eric Rinehart, Chris Kalapodis for McHenry County Coroner, 18th Circuit Judge Chantelle Porter, Nick Meyer for Judge, Kelli Wegener for McHenry County Board Chair, Hilary Winiarz for Lake District Two County Board, Maria Sinkule for DuPage District One County Board and Lucy Chang Evans for DuPage District Three County Board.
