Illinoisans don’t have to wait for a Supreme Court ruling to understand the threat of the Republican party. IL GOP candidates have already made it clear they want to roll back the clock on women’s rights. Extremists like Darren Bailey have even suggested that there should be no exceptions for abortion even in cases of rape or incest. Now with SCOTUS preparing to overturn Roe v. Wade and Illinois’ neighbors moving to ban abortion, every Illinois Republican must be asked a simple question: how far will you go to limit reproductive rights?
Today is a good day to ask every Republican candidate running for office where they stand on Roe v. Wade and if they agree with Republicans around the country that abortion should be outlawed.
