Chicago, IL — The Democratic Party of Illinois is proud to celebrate its historic coordinated campaign, Organize Illinois 2024. By putting boots on the ground and connecting with communities directly, DPI worked to engage nearly 2 million voters on doors and phones, hosted nearly 200 get-out-the-vote events, answered 2200 voter protection calls, and traveled to Kenosha, Wisconsin to mobilize voters.
“I couldn’t be more proud of the strong statewide coalition that we’ve built through engaging with communities across Illinois,” said DPI Chair Lisa Hernandez. “DPI has brought people from all walks of life together to advocate for their communities and ensure our fundamental rights continue to thrive across our great state.”
DPI championed a people-powered movement across the state through community engagement and grassroots organizing. The Party has engaged over a thousand volunteers who canvassed, phone banked, and registered voters–helping ensure that every eligible Illinoisan could cast their ballot and make their voice heard.
Hernandez continued: “Community-driven efforts not only matter, they are effective—and Organize Illinois is proof. Day in and day out and county by county, DPI put in countless hours this election cycle to show up for Illinois. Grassroots organizing is at the heart of our work and absolutely critical for shaping a brighter future for us all.”
From a youth rally at Illinois State University to an Election Day get out the vote message, DPI has left no stone unturned in ensuring that every Illinoisan has the chance to make their voice heard.
She concluded: “But the work doesn’t stop tonight. Under my leadership, DPI has built a state party infrastructure that is robust, intentional and well-resourced. We look to 2025’s municipal elections and 2026’s midterms. Our fight continues!”
Organize Illinois 2024 is a coordinated campaign focused on engaging voters and securing victories at every level—from county boards to Congress. Through targeted strategies, extensive volunteer efforts, and significant investment in paid communications, the campaign worked to support 115 candidates across the state, underscoring the Democratic Party of Illinois’s commitment to a statewide presence.
